Influence of the Tudors and how it reflects in dolls created for dollhouse miniature displays cannot be discounted. Consider Katherine of Aragon from Spain who introduced the Spanish farthingale (a hoop skirt) to England; then Anne Boleyn's French influenced fashions of crescent caps, hoods and tight, square-necked bodices, to Anne of Cleves who brought the Flemish leg-of-mutton sleeves.
Here are but a very few displays you can consider in their dress and appearance by two well know CDHM doll Artisans.
